My grandson who was only two months old chocked on breastmilk. We were new to the area and didn’t know where the hospital was. I called 911 telling them the situation and that we were driving to find a hospital. They tracked my phone, told us directions such as, make a U-turn, turn right on 2nd St., and then I got a stop at the coming signal! We did and all of a sudden we were surrounded by cops, fire and soon an ambulance. I handed the baby, who was now blue in the face, out the car window to a cop, who tipped the baby upside down on his knee, stroking his back, tapping his back, until the ambulance arrived maybe 90 seconds later where an officer handed the baby to them. Mom got in with them and I followed them to the hospital.

All the First Responders who came to us and saved my grandson are my heroes! They make a difference and they do it selflessly. We honored them with plaques of my grandson and we have kept in touch to this day! The police officer wanted no recognition, no thanks; he said he was just doing his job! The firefighters and paramedics have hung the plaque in their hallway. We were unable to find the 911 operator. It is because of her tracking my phone the First Reaponders could circle us with a light for the handoff. Forever grateful.
