Our Story
On 5/27/18 I had a seizure and I felt like my body was shutting down when I called 911. I had no idea what was happening, but I knew it was bad. Henderson 99 arrived, and they were calm, coordinated and in control of the situation, and as a result, I calmed down. When the pain started it was excruciating and the worst pain I had ever felt in my life- so bad I couldn’t even say what I wanted to say more than anything else in the world; “Help me”. They knew. The manner with which they handled that call likely played a significant role in keeping me alive, as we later learned I had an aneurysm. I will always remember the Henderson 99 crew for what they did for me that day. First responders don’t do this work for the recognition, but when they’re doing it day in and day out to help us, a simple thank you is the least we can do. Many people have told me that they do not know how to go about finding their first responders to say thank you, so this blog is a way to make it easy. Your first responder may not see your message, but other first responders will see that the work that they do is appreciated. I know that Henderson 99 appreciated it when I stopped by to say thank you, so a few minutes of your time now is going to be an epic investment- I promise.
