I was on a business trip in a remote location and dislocated my knee. When the paramedic arrived, he was so empathetic it was amazing. He regretfully informed me that he had nothing that he could give me for pain, and he told me he knew how much pain I was in because his wife had suffered a knee dislocation previously. He spent his time trying to distract me and talk to me during the ride to the hospital - doing whatever he could trying to comfort me because he knew how much pain I was in. I appreciated everything he did to go out of his way to help me on that day.
