James Weirick/ CA/ The Creek Fire

The #CreekFire has been burning for over 40 days, and it’s not giving up without a fight. At 1500, 14OCT20, a fire reignited at Balsam Forebay, above Shaver Lake.  The #AEIFire 6x6 was there to support the #CalFire engines from the Fresno-Kings Unit. These #CalFire Firefighters had been battling the #CreekFire from its inception on 4SEP20.  They were scheduled to rotate off this very day, then they got the call to respond to this fire just before the end of their shift. It was truly inspiriting to witness the determination of these young men and women. Moreover, it was hearting to overhear their collective pride for having extinguishing this fire before nightfall, and saving the residents of Shaver Lake from having to relive the vision of fire again threatening their community.  These are some truly dedicated individuals.
