In May of 2007 when I was 15 years old, my mother was unloading a moving truck and fell off of it and broke her leg and hip. This was an absolutely terrifying experience for me, but the medics that arrived to help my mom were wonderful. While some were helping her and working to make sure she was going to be okay, one spent time with me. He asked me questions, calmed me down, and told me that everything was going to be okay. I am so thankful to all of them for the help, kindness, and calm that they brought to this tough situation.
